Izon Science

COMPANY PROFILE

Izon is a nanotechnology company focused on measurement, analysis and single particle control at the nanoscale.

Izon has developed the science, hardware and software to fabricate and control dynamically tunable nanopores. These are a practical and cost effective means for the detection, characterisation and control of nanoparticles down to the molecular scale. Izon’s nanopores can be opened, closed and changed in size in real time. The platform encompassing this technology is called SIOS (Scanning Ion Occlusion Spectroscopy).

MAIN PRODUCTS + SERVICES

Applications of the SIOS platform include:

  • Virus quantitation

  • Nanoparticle measurement (relative size, charge, geometry)

  • Immunodetection

  • Molecular Diagnostics

  • Biomolecule analysis

  • Environmental monitoring

Two instruments based on this platform are currently available on version 1.0 release:

  • qViro is a virus counting instrument which provides previously unavailable real-time quantitation capability for virus particles.

  • qNano is a nanoparticle research instrument which provides analysis capability including relative size distribution of nanoparticles in real-time.

COLLABORATIONS SOUGHT

Izon is currently seeking customer-based relationships under its Foundation Customer Programme. This affords a range of discounts on future purchases of nanopores and instrument upgrades, plus an enhanced level of access to specific research advice and support from Izon’s technical and scientific team. Collaborations on specific research projects under the umbrella of this programme are available. Joint Ventures and IP licensing arrangements are also open to discussion.
