Photometric stereo
An innovative photometric imaging technique has been used to suggest a possible correlation between observable signatures in acquired skin features and the presence of malignant melanoma (MM) in vivo. Preliminary studies on 32 lesions (of which 9 were MMs) have resulted in 69.6% specificity and 100% sensitivity. Collaboration is sought from new partners interested in developing a multi-modal approach to capture structures both at and below the surface for applications in dermatology (including tele-dermatology), as well as pharmacology and cosmetology.
