The Severnside Alliance for Translational Research (SARTRE)
SARTRE is a new partnership created between the Universities of Cardiff and Bristol to merge their efforts in translational research and to provide a focal point for interactions with the Bio-Pharmaceutical industry.
AIMS
- To provide a managed network of competence across the two universities and associated NHS trusts.
- To provide management support to translational projects across the alliance and to identify appropriate follow on or exit strategies.
- To build a portfolio of advanced translation projects using funding from the MRC-DPFS devolved portfolio scheme.
- To interact with a network of external agencies including regulatory agencies and contract research or development organizations.
- To interact with Industry and act as a catalyst for the creation of joint development projects.
- To develop new models of risk sharing for joint projects with the private sector.
