Centre for Research in Analytical, Materials and Sensor Science (CRAMSS)

UWE BristolThe Centre for Research in Analytical, Materials and Sensor Science (CRAMSS), based at the University of the West of England, Bristol, has achieved international recognition in sensor sciences, employing a multi-disciplinary approach to the research and applications of sensors for the agri-food, environmental and biomedical sectors. 

CRAMSSStaff within CRAMSS also carry out research into separation science, chemical analyses, chemical speciation and materials synthesis and characterisation.  Funding has been awarded by the Research Councils, the European Union, the Environment Agency, DTI, charities and industry. 

The Centre is characterised by its breadth of vision, from research into new organometallic catalysts, through novel separation methodologies to the exploration of the chemistry of surfaces in forensic science research.
